Ross has a passion for the skill associated with effective communication in leadership. He sees this as critical for long term efficacy in any role, as well as for more acute, critical incidents and decision making. 

His background as a Police Hostage Negotiator, Counter Terrorism Security Coordinator (CTSecCo), Senior Detective, Specialist Operations Lead, and Incident Commander, is complimented heavily with a career in the corporate sector since January 2017, For this point he has built global experience in Corporate Risk, Security, Safety, Operations leadership all across a number of sectors, including as a Consultant and Trainer, independently of his core roles and responsibilities. 

This experience endows Ross with an ability to support others and their development in the areas of Leadership and Communication, Coaching and Mentoring, managing difficult conversations, Consulting and embedding Organisational Structures and Cultures, Organisational Risk and Resilience, Corporate Safety and Security, Crisis and Incident Management. 

A highly experienced senior policing leader with over 30 years of service, Jonathan brings exceptional depth of expertise in leading complex, high-risk operations at both strategic and tactical levels. His career has been defined by operating in demanding environments where effective leadership, clear decision-making and resilience under pressure are critical to success.

Jonathan specialises in high-risk command, counter-terrorism preparedness and organisational resilience. He has extensive experience in planning for and responding to major incidents, working at the forefront of multi-agency coordination, threat management and crisis response. His insight into the realities of operational command enables him to translate complex challenges into practical, actionable strategies for organisations.

With a strong focus on crisis leadership and decision-making, Jonathan supports senior leaders in developing the confidence and capability required to operate effectively under pressure. He understands the human and organisational dynamics that influence performance in high-stakes situations, and incorporates these into his approach to both consultancy and training.

Alongside his operational background, Jonathan is an accomplished associate trainer, delivering strategic command training to senior leaders across the UK. His delivery style is grounded in real-world experience, ensuring that learning is practical, credible and immediately applicable. Through his work, he helps organisations strengthen their resilience, enhance leadership capability and prepare for the challenges of an increasingly complex risk landscape.

Rebecca (Becks) Cant MSc brings over 30 years of operational policing and strategic leadership to the Oakwood Level 3 Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP) course. As the former UK Strategic Training Lead for Hostage and Crisis Negotiators, Becks held national responsibility for setting standards, driving policy, and modernising training frameworks across UK police negotiation capabilities. Her extensive career spans operational response, command and control, criminal investigations, and providing specialist command advice in high-stakes environments—including counter-terrorism, hostage, kidnap, and extortion scenarios. 

Holding a Master’s degree in Counter Terrorism from UCLan, Becks bridges academic research with real-world operational context. She specialises in advanced behavioural communication, threat and risk decision-making under pressure, de-escalation, and structured debriefing. Her background includes designing and delivering immersive training alongside military and international partners, as well as developing UK first-responder policy frameworks to ensure consistent operational readiness. 

As a consultant, Becks delivers threat and risk command advice, designs tabletop exercises, and supports organisations in navigating complex threat landscapes. Her evidence-led approach ensures delegates on the Level 3 CTPSaP course gain practical, actionable insights into risk thinking, operational decision-making, and organisational resilience under pressure. 

Katey is an experienced trainer and consultant specialising in crisis leadership, negotiation, decision-making under pressure, and organisational resilience. With more than 30 years’ experience in policing and Counter Terrorism preparedness, she brings exceptional operational credibility and practical insight to leadership and specialist training.

As the former UK National Lead for Counter Terrorism Negotiation, Katey helped shape the UK’s strategic preparedness and response to terrorist sieges, hostage incidents, and complex multi-agency crises. Katey has worked with UK Government departments and international law enforcement partners, including the FBI and Europol ATLAS, and has delivered specialist training for senior leaders across policing, military, public, and private sector organisations in the UK and internationally.

Katey is also a Suicide First Aid® Tutor for the National Centre for Suicide Prevention and Training (NCSPT), bringing real-world experience and techniques from the world of crisis negotiation into the learning environment.

With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Roger is an experienced police officer specialising in hostage negotiation and crisis management. Throughout his extensive career, he has honed his expertise as both a Hostage Negotiator and a Hostage Negotiator Trainer, successfully managing high-stress situations to enhance operational resilience. 

As a qualified trainer, Roger runs structured debriefs, providing crucial support and targeted training for teams and individuals after high-risk incidents, ensuring optimal performance and resilience in security risk management. His training experience spans across the globe, with Hostage Negotiator courses in the USA, Canada, and Abu Dhabi, broadening his ability to navigate diverse cultural and situational contexts in international negotiation scenarios. 

A certified TRiM (Trauma Risk Management) trainer, Roger is deeply committed to supporting the mental well-being of staff. Through the delivery of essential tools and strategies, he helps staff manage the psychological challenges of their roles. Roger remains devoted to mentoring and developing the next generation of public and private sector professionals.

Scott is a specialist lecturer in counter-terrorism, command training and post incident management. 

Scott retired from policing as Chief Firearms Instructor after a career spanning twenty eight and a half years. He held various high profile armed policing roles within Police Scotland and UK armed policing working groups. He performed the roles of armed response officer, firearms tactical advisor, operational firearms commander, police range safety inspector and national firearms instructor.

He is an accomplished and well respected training and development professional with a proven record in the management and delivery of complex national training.

His responsibilities as Chief Firearms Instructor included the design, delivery, and scheduling of all firearms training across Scotland from operational to command level. This training ranged between armed response, close protection, tactical rifle officer, CTSFO and all command roles.
