The Certified Security Risk Manager (CSRM®) course is an advanced programme for professionals who manage organisation wide security risks. Taught by experienced practitioners, it develops the skills needed to assess threats, design proportionate security measures, and support informed decision making across a range of sectors.

Through a blend of structured teaching, case studies, and workplace application, learners will cover the following modules. All course content is aligned with national protective security guidance and relevant standards.
To provide flexibility and align with different professional goals, there are two certification routes available. Each route offers a recognised outcome, with differing levels of assessment depth, cost and regulatory recognition, allowing learners to choose the option that best suits their requirements.
Regardless of the route chosen, all learners who successfully complete the course will be awarded the Certified Security Risk Manager (CSRM®) certification by Oakwood Risk and Resilience. This recognises professional competence in security risk management and provides the CSRM® designation for use following successful completion of the programme.
The course content is the same for both routes, with the only difference being the assignment structure and assessment requirements.
Endorsed by the Skills and Education Group through the QLS Scheme, this route provides the Level 5 Certificate in Security and Resilience, alongside the Level 4 Award in Protective Security. Assessment for this route consists of two assignments of approximately 3000 words each, focusing on key elements of security risk management and their application in practice.
